Ehwa Mural Village ( 이화 벽화마을 )

Ewha mural village is located at the Ihwa-dong, Jongno-gu of Seoul, a modest neighborhood decorated with public art murals.

This place has become popular because of the angel wings mural that was featured in 1N2D. However, after exposure through TV program, so many people came and even had to queue up through midnight in order to take pictures, it had become a nuisance for residence. Not long after, the original painter of angel wing had to remove the painting. Notwithstanding removal of Angel wing mural, still many people visit this village for beautiful murals. Even though most of them were worn away because of long years without maintenance work, I was surprised by the fact that Seoul has these scenic areas.

It is hard to find if you are not from around this village. From Hyewha station and Maronie park, you have to walk up to Naksan Park. When you reach the end of brick stairs, you see the murals of dog and clock with purple door. what you have to do from there is to follow the murals to reach back to the bottom of village.
