1100 Highland Ecological Swamp (1100고지습지)

As its name suggests, 1100 Highland Ecological Swamp is located in Mount Hallasan, at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. This wetland is so important for fauna and flora conservation purposes that it is not only designated as a National Protected Area by the Korean government but is also considered as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.

1100 Highland Ecological Swamp is home to many plants and animals, including some endangered species and others endemic to the island. Among the fauna and flora that can be observed, you might see Black Paradise flycatchers, or Peregrine falcons, Rhododendrons, the beautiful flower Diapensia japonica or least weasels.
