Jaein Falls ( 재인폭포 )
Place Category: Outdoors & Recreation and Nature
Located at the entrance to Gamagol Village, this is the leading scenic spot in Yeoncheon-gun. The waterfall measuring 18.5 m in height and 30 m in width was formed by the sinking of the flatland, which led to the formation of a large-sized ravine. The name Jaein (clown) was attached to it due to a local folklore about a tightrope walker with a beautiful wife. One of the local administrators was secretly attracted to his wife. One day, the tightrope walker was engaging in an act on the rope tied to the ravine and the administrator had one of his men cut the rope. The sight of the area down below, viewed from a lookout near the waterfalls, will make visitors feel dizzy.
